The 13th Annual TAKE A STEP 5K RUN/WALK is an annual event benefiting domestic abuse, sexual assault and youth in crisis services provided through CAP Services' FCC. Spring is a time to celebrate and the Portage County Foundation is hosting a brand new Spring Celebration to honor educators and leaders. At 5:30 on the evening of May 5th, at the Stevens Point Country Club, the Foundation will honor recognized educators in Portage County from Kindergarten through College. In addition, the current Leadership Portage County class will be honored. This is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the heroes among us. An annual event hosted by Ministry Health Care & The Stevens Point Journal as well as other area sponsors this walk is a non-competitive walk made for all ages. Choose from 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full mile along the scenic Green Circle. Registration begins at 1/2 hour before event starts at the Pfiffner Band Shell. Destiny Point is a home currently located in Rudolph, WI that provides residency to women that want to overcome issues including drug/alcohol abuse, eating disorders, suicidal tendencies, sexual and physical and physical abuse, depression and other life controlling issues. It is a free of charge, has a holistic approach, and is faith based to get women a life changing transformation.
